Shami Kabab
Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 125g plain yogurt
- 100g of dried chickpea dhaal
- 3 green chili peppers
- 1 small red onion
- 1 bunch fresh coriander
- 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1/2 packet of Shan Masala Shami Kabab Mix
- 1/4 teaspoon of red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 3/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup sunflower oil (or any other neutral oil)
Directions
Batter:
- In a pot, cook the ground beef with the chickpeas, and add the ginger paste and garlic paste (DO NOT ADD WATER OR OIL)
- Cover and cook on low heat for about 15 minutes or until all moisture has evaporated
- Add the yogurt and salt and cook on low heat and covered until all moisture has evaporated
- Add the cut onions, the red chili powder, and the Shan Masala powder - cook for 2 minutes
Shan Masala Shami Kabab Mix
- Add the cumin and turmeric powder
- Remove the mixture from the heat and put it in a blender (make sure all moisture is gone)
- Add the green chilis, the eggs, and the coriander
- Blend everything together until you get a paste
- Form small round patties
- Fry your patties at medium heat in a pan with oil until golden brown
- Enjoy with lemon juice and any bread!
